Chevy S-10 solar electric vehicle conversion
What's up?
I have always been interested in renewable energy but a project I have just recently started that you would first think didn't have anything to do with renewable energy is the conversion of an ICE (internal combustion engine) vehicle to run off of electricity. This is the concept of alternative transportation. go figure, we can get around town without polluting our environment, using up limited fossil fuels and we can save some money too!

Why bother?
Think about it... How often do you make short trips to the grocery store or to your friend's house? and think about it, how far are those trips, really? maybe 1-2 miles? It's even less most of the times! You might say, "oh well i only do it every now and then", but a drug addict could say the same thing

Even better?
And better yet, since I'm the solar guy around here, why not make it a 100% green vehicle and put solar panels on it?!?! To all of you nay-sayers out there: yes I know that putting panels on the truck will not give it a significant range boost and if anything will limit my range. I am putting panels on it because I love solar panel!

How goes the project?
As of now we have gathered all the necessary (and plenty of un-necessary) items from the electric bus that is finally gone from my house and we have stripped the truck of all the ICE (internal combustion engine) parts that needed to go.

How can you help?
Right now we are looking for someone with machining capabilities who can build a coupler to connect the DC motor shaft with the transmission input shaft. All the designing/engineering is done, we just need someone with the capabilities.
